History

Dynamos Soccer Club was formed in 1967 by immigrant workers employed at Laporte mineral sands company. Dynamos Juniors began in 1973 with a team of under 17s and under 13s.

The original Laporte title was changed to Dynamos in 1975 and the Juniors became an independent body. Senior and Junior clubs maintain a strong relationship and share common ideals, headquarters and facilities. Dynamos is proud of its long contribution to our local community and the playing fields of Western Australia.

Under its old name of Laporte, our club was a founding member of the South-West Soccer Association, Bunbury Junior Soccer Association and Country Women's Soccer Association. Under the Dynamos banner it is a founder member of newly formed Country Coastal JSA.

To quote an old Australian saying, ' We don't play for sheep stations', enjoyment while learning is the name of the game with Dynamos. Many honors won on the field demonstrate that our tradition of sportsmanship and fair play has not reduced the competitiveness of Dynamos teams. A growing intake of children and grandchildren of past players is a sign that our philosophy has withstood the test of time.

In 2004, Dynamos Juniors, with 330 registered players, was close to the largest junior club in Western Australia.

Dynamos Juniors Committee, Coaching Panel and Team Managers are volunteer parents plus a few old blokes with time on their hands and a passion for the game.

Over the past 3 decades a huge number of caring parents served on our committee or as coaches or managers. Over the same period, hundreds of youngsters passed through our junior teams. We sincerely trust they have fond memories of their time with Dynamos.
